Every Open Source project faces many of the same problems. Sure, our solutions and implementations will be different but we are all looking at the same things. We can all benefit from each others experience. This is one of the reasons that I regularly attend my local Drupal user group. Not to learn about Drupal but to learn how they addressed the issue and what were the reasons behind the decisions.
Of course the fact that they are a great group of people and we enjoy a beer or three together after the meeting helps as well.
So when I heard that Robert Castello of Drupal and Jenny Wong from WordPress were organising a combined sprint in London in April I jumped at the opportunity to get Joomla involved as well.
Why
Sprinting together is a great way to resolve issues. Sprinting with other Open Source CMS in the same room is a great way to share solutions and maybe even discover issues that you hadn't considered. By participating you will learn from your peers, raise the skill levels of everyone who collaborates with you, and help the thousands of people who will benefit from your contribution.
What
Two days together in London. You're welcome to join us on the Saturday, the Sunday, or both days, for face to face collaboration on improving code, design, and documentation or any other area that will "scratch your itch".
Who
Anyone who uses Joomla, Drupal or WordPress.
You don't have to be a developer. In fact we want people who are not developers!!
Everyone has an important role to play in the development of Open Source software and this is your opportunity to take part. If you've been to a sprint before you will now that it's great fun as well.
Where
Happy London are our generous hosts in their new state of the art IT training facility. It is really easy to find, especially if you follow the map.
When
Sat, 29 Apr 2017, 10:30 – Sun, 30 Apr 2017, 17:00
You are of course welcome for both days or just for one. Just grab a ticket so we know to expect you.
And did I say it is FREE!!
So what are you waiting for - lets get together and make the world of Open Source software better All Together.
