The Joomla World Cup - Netherlands - Fighting the effects of climate change

Written by Brian Teeman
The Joomla World Cup - Netherlands

When I think of the Netherlands I think of clogs, tulips, windmills and some of the best Joomla!Day events I have ever attended.

The Netherlands is also of course famous for its canals and the fact that about 1/5 of the country has been recovered from the sea or about 7,000 km2.

As a result The Netherlands has perhaps more interest in the environment, rising sea levels etc than any other country in Europe.

klimaatbosje.nl is an innovative scheme to plant "Climate Bushes", or groups of walnut trees, in attempt to rebalance the CO2 emissions and hold back the effects of "climate change".

About Brian Teeman

  • As a co-founder of Joomla! and OpenSourceMatters Inc I've never been known to be lacking an opinion or being too afraid to express it.

Despite what some people might think I'm a shy and modest man who doesnt like to blow his own trumpet or boast about achievements.

But it seems that no blog exists without an "About" page so rather than talk about what an amazingly great guy I am and list all the things I've achieved (and failed at) in life from my Cycling Proficiency Test in 1976 to winning an award for the "UK Individual Contribution to Open / Source" in 2005 here are some links.
