In 2010, Mexico will commemorate the bicentennial of its Independence movement and the centennial of its Revolution with an extensive program of events.

The website in Spanish and in English is both an educational tool and a portal for details of the celebrations.

This celebration is an effort to inspire all Mexicans and all interested individuals everywhere to learn about the origin and context of the Independence and Revolutionary movements and their impact on our lives today, and to encourage the ethical and civic values that nourish our harmonious coexistence and that strengthen the nation.

Catering for for Mexican natives and foreigners alike and aims to "provoke discussion—about who we have been, who we are and who we would like to be" by providing in depth articles, videos, photos and interactive presentations. There is even an aim to collect personal family histories of these auspicious events in the history of the nation.

This blog post is part of a series during the World Cup aiming to highlight the wide spread of joomla across the world. It was supposed to be of a country that won their match each day but as todays matches were all draws I chose Mexico at random)

About Brian Teeman

  • As a co-founder of Joomla! and OpenSourceMatters Inc I've never been known to be lacking an opinion or being too afraid to express it.

Despite what some people might think I'm a shy and modest man who doesnt like to blow his own trumpet or boast about achievements.

But it seems that no blog exists without an "About" page so rather than talk about what an amazingly great guy I am and list all the things I've achieved (and failed at) in life from my Cycling Proficiency Test in 1976 to winning an award for the "UK Individual Contribution to Open / Source" in 2005 here are some links.
