Denmark has a global reputation for style and design, after all it's the home of Bang & Olufsen.

It is famed for its humanism, social understanding, democratic thinking and concern for the environment and the world we live in.

At INDEX: they "dream of a world that is designed to suit the needs and aspirations of mankind."

Established in 2002, this Danish-based, non-profit organization, works to improve the lives of people across the world through design,

INDEX: is widely recognized for its global biennial design award, worth €500,000 in the five categories of Body, Home, Work, Play, and Community. These awards are the world's largest design and innovation awards.

INDEX: believe that through the application of designs and design processes we can shape our environment to make the world a safer and better place.

Only designs that considerably improve the life for large numbers of people are considered and INDEX: aims to reward and encourage the use of design to that effect.

About Brian Teeman

  • As a co-founder of Joomla! and OpenSourceMatters Inc I've never been known to be lacking an opinion or being too afraid to express it.

Despite what some people might think I'm a shy and modest man who doesnt like to blow his own trumpet or boast about achievements.

But it seems that no blog exists without an "About" page so rather than talk about what an amazingly great guy I am and list all the things I've achieved (and failed at) in life from my Cycling Proficiency Test in 1976 to winning an award for the "UK Individual Contribution to Open / Source" in 2005 here are some links.
