The Joomla World Cup - Germany
Stadtwerke Lübeck provides the City of Lübeck and several surrounding communities with electricity, natural gas, drinking water and (remote) heat.
The Joomla World Cup - Argentina
http://www.casarosada.gov.ar is the official web site of the President of Argentina, Mrs Cristina Fernández.
I'm not going to pretend that I even remotely understand the political structure of the Republic of Argentina
It appears to operate in a similar structure to that of the USA, with a directly elected President and appointed Cabinet of Ministers.

The Joomla World Cup
As the world prepares for a four week onslaught of football (sorry my American friends but it is football not soccer and this is a world championship that includes countries other than the USA) I thought it would be time for a bit if fun.
Each day during the World Cup I will feature a prominent joomla powered website from each competing nation as they win a game. So once again sorry USA I guess I won't be looking for any sites on the other side of the Atlantic.
{...}The world according to Joomla!
This is a guest blog post by Marcos Peebles from PIEZOWORKS.
So, Drupal got the White House, nice and a very positive move for Open Source in general and CMS's in particular. What about Joomla! and governmental sites?
We always want to know were we stand, don't we? Recently a typical internet buzz tried to imply Joomla! was for the dwarfs and that more serious CMS's got all the biggies. Is it true?
A reply from the very-naughty-boy hosting this blog on twitter to OSM President Ryan Ozimek, about a country using Joomla! got me going for a deeper look.
{...}World's third largest retailer adopts Joomla!
Tesco is the third largest retailer in the world just behind Wal-Mart and Carrefour.
When a global company with annual profits exceeding £3billion per year adopts Joomla! you know it's not about the price.
Today they announced the launch of their online learning portal, AcademyOnline, for over 400,000 staff around the world using Joomla and Moodle.
{...}Gazzetta KicKs Off
I'm not really here today as I am teaching a Joomla class in Central London but I couldn't resist the temptation to blog in advance about an amazing site that hopefuly has been relaunched by the time you can see this blog post.
(That's assuming of course that I make the correct adjustments for time zones, so if the site doesn't look like the image here then come back in a few hours and oopsie.)
As you've probably gathered I'm a big fan of K2 from joomlaworks.gr. Some people even call it "Joomla 1.6 without the wait", and if you've tried it for yourself you will know how incredibly powerful it is.
{...}The Telegraph selects the best Culture web sites
Two Joomla powered sites right there at the top of the tree.
The Daily Telegraph newspaper is one of the more traditional and conservative (small c and big c) newspapers in the UK and is almost the only daily newspaper that still uses the broadsheet format it also has the highest circulation of any "quality" newspaper.
{...}Intolerant Offspring
(This is a guest post by Ken Crowder)
Having two kids with food allergies, my wife Michelle and I have had to learn to cook differently over the last two years. Since we love to cook and almost never eat out, this became a little difficult. Over those two years we have amassed a good number of great recipes. After a while we thought that we should share these with others. That is how Intolerant Offspring was born.
{...}Taking a bus tour
I came across this site last week whilst doing a little bit of holiday planning for my parents.
www.eggedo.co.il is the web site for coach tours of Israel (and beyond) for the Israeli national bus company.
It's very different to the usual type of clean, crisp web site that I admire.
