The Joomla World Cup - New Zealand - National Film Archive
New Zealand were the only team in the 2010 FIFA World Cup not to lose a game.
They didn't win a game either so unfortunately left the competition after the group stages.
Add a commentThe Joomla World Cup - Brazil - Sao Paulo for tourists
I had been saving several Brazilian sites for the later stages of the World Cup but somehow they managed to get knocked out much earlier than I expected.
Whoever said that this World Cup was going to be predictable?
As there was no game today I'm taking the opportunity to post one of those Brazilian web sites.
Add a commentThe Joomla World Cup - Spain - Promoting Open Source Software
Spain were one of the "red hot" favourites before the start of the World Cup but somehow after they managed to lose their first game we all forgot that.
It has been slightly harder to find high profile joomla web sites in Spain than in some other countries
I suspect that this is more down to my poor language skills than any lack of adoption.
Add a commentThe Joomla World Cup - Netherlands - Materials Innovation Institute
Thanks to Sander for supplying me with a very long list of impressive high profile web sites from the Netherlands. I never thought I would need such a big list.
The Joomla World Cup - Greece - Ministry of Education
We all know that two of the greatest Joomla extension developers are in Greece.
There can hardly be a Joomla web site developer that has not heard of Akeeba Backup
or K2
from JoomlaWorks
.
But let's not forget that one half of the Community Builder
team are also in Athens.
Maybe there is something in the water of the "Home of Democracy" that makes such great Joomla developers or perhaps it's the quality of the education.
Add a commentThe Joomla World Cup - Australia - the National Capital of Canberra
It seems that there is never a pub quiz without being asked for the name of the Capital City of Australia.
I don't know why but the quiz master always seems to think that this is a trick question and that after a few beers everyone will forget that it is Canberra and opt for Sydney instead.
Do they think we are all fools?
Add a commentThe Joomla World Cup - Germany - Top of the Music Charts
As a child I would be glued to my radio every sunday night to hear the music single Top 40 countdown.
As an adult in the multimedia cd-rom business I would scramble to open the envelope for the monthly software sales charts.
Add a commentThe Joomla World Cup - Netherlands - Fighting the effects of climate change
When I think of the Netherlands I think of clogs, tulips, windmills and some of the best Joomla!Day
events I have ever attended.
The Netherlands is also of course famous for its canals and the fact that about 1/5 of the country has been recovered from the sea or about 7,000 km2.
Add a commentThe Joomla World Cup - Cameroon
The Republic of Cameroon (French: République du Cameroun) is in central, western Africa on the Atlantic coast.
Although the country was created from two countries from the former French and British empires it is a predominantly french speaking country.
Relative to it's neighbouring countries Cameroon enjoys political and social stability and comparatively is well developed.
Add a commentThe Joomla World Cup - England - The London Bus
As you hopefully know by now this series of blog posts aims to feature high profile Joomla web sites from a country that won a match in the FIFA World Cup.
There wasn't a game today so I've selected a web site from England, who did win once, but haven't featured yet.
Sadly the England team underperformed so I've selected this site with my tongue firmly in my cheek as it's not exactly as "high profile" as other sites that I've included.
