Hard work has it's rewards

The Movement for Reform JudaismSome readers may know that for several months this year I was building a new web site for The Movement for Reform JudaismThe Movement for Reform Judaism in the UK.

It was a lot of hard work transferring an old Joomla 1.0 site with a very confused navigation structure into not only a usable site but also an accessible site.

At the recent cmsexpo cmsexpo in Denver I was delighted to recieve the award for "Best Joomla-Powered Non-Profit Website" for all the hard work.

I was particularly pleased as the secret judging panel were not privy to all the hard work and clever coding, even if I says so myself, that goes on under the hood.

The site is actually seven different sites, and soon to be more, seamlessly linked together into one with an integrated menu and cross site search. There is even one part of the site that grabs all its content from an offline private intranet application written in MS SQL.

One day if I ever find the time I will write up a full case study.
